The Chef

Peter Campbell hails from the coastal picturesque village of Mountcharles, Co Donegal.  As part of his training in Killybegs Tourism College, Peter worked in Harvey’s Point and Castlemurray.  Upon qualifying from Killybegs in 1997, Peter relocated to Leinster where he worked in The K Club in Kildare and then to Bang Café on Merrion Row. 

At Bang Café, Peter worked alongside head chef Lorcan Cribbin for over 6 years before becoming Head Chef in Heron’s Cove, Creevy and The Village Tavern, Mountcharles. 

At The Village Tavern, Peter headed up the team in the kitchen from 2008-2017 when Enda O Rourke was proprietor, during which time, they won numerous recognitions and awards.  

Peter and his wife Briege set up Outside Catering Donegal in 2017 recognising a need in the market for professional catering services for our local community, staycations and international visitors.  

Peter’s ethos of using only local food producers ensures that he can support local businesses and showcase Donegal as a food destination, while also ensuring that customers are treated to the finest ingredients, exceptional service and high quality food.
